As Christmas time approaches we start to think of those less fortunate than ourselves and its this time of year were we like to give back to our community as well as charitable organisations close to our hearts. This year we decided to have a fundraising day, that included wearing Christmas jumpers/ accessories, a guess the baby competition with baby pictures of staff and celebrities, a raffle, cardless Christmas donations as well as a Christmas bake off competition.
The day was a success. We managed to raise a total of £615 from all the events, which we added to our charity and social fund.
We decided to split the amounts to several organisations which included:
£300 going to Clatterbridge Cancer Care NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of the UK’s leading cancer centres providing highly specialist cancer care to a population of 2.3m people across Cheshire, Merseyside and the surrounding areas including the Isle of Man.
£750 going to Teardrops Homeless Charity in St Helens to fund an industrial washer/dryer.
We are proud of the team that we have at Starbank as they always get involved in helping raise money and we will always continue to support our local community and charities.
