More and more emphasis is being placed on how businesses reduce their impact on the environment by reducing the amount of energy they use and therefore carbon emissions their processes generate.
Following considerable research several investments have been made to reduce energy consumption cutting costs and significantly reducing carbon emissions.
1. Lighting project – utilising some of the most energy efficient light fittings and a new lighting layout energy costs for lighting have been reduced by over £20,000 per annum.
2. Compressed air system – the production of compressed air is a very expensive part of the manufacturing process, more so if steps are not taken to minimise waste and maximise efficiency of generation. Savings of approximately £15,000 per annum have been made by a programme of air leak identification, balancing of the system and investment in a new more efficient air dryer.
These saving not only reduce our carbon footprint, they ultimately allow us to provide even more competitive prices to our customers.
