About Us

Established by the Darbyshire family in 1976 Starbank started life as a supplier of furniture components to the caravan industry and later for a growing number of industries who required a reliable and quality outsourcing service for the fabrication of high pressure laminates and wood based panel products.

We remain to this day a family run business with a major focus on quality of product and service. The company has gone from strength to strength over the years, increasing the size of our production facilities by investing in a purpose built factory in Newton-le-Willows in 1991. We have also grown our staff from 6 to a highly motivated and skilled workforce of more than 100 with expertise in all of our products' key end use sectors. Our solid reputation within the industry has been built on a very hands on and proactive approach to laminate fabrication and furniture component manufacturing and this has seen us achieve excellent annual growth over each of the last 20 years.

Our 3 acre manufacturing base has over 70,000 sqare feet of production floor space and we have consistently invested in cutting edge equipment to meet the ever-changing requirements of our valued customers, offer a wider range of materials and stay one step ahead of our competitors. Diversification into the office, educational, and contract furniture sectors has enabled Starbank to remain unique with product offers across many surfacing materials such as HPL, MFC & Compact Laminates.

Machinery investment has included sophisticated CNCs, Edgebanders, Static Postformers, point to point drilling, routing and shaping. As a result of this our factory now houses some of the most sophisticated panel processing machinery in the UK and with over 30 years of fabrication experience and millions of pounds of investment we are firmly established as one of the UK's market leaders.
